A phenomena where artists struggle to create. As an artist, I believe this is the result of being overwhelmed by too many ideas. When we are given too much freedom to create, we often blank out and cannot decide what to do.
My painting, Nostalgia (2020), was created without any prior planning for a neo-expressionism project. In class, we had an exercise where we practiced creating miniature pieces using prompts from our teacher. These lessons strengthened my problem solving skills as an artist, encouraging a more spontaneous approach when it comes to art-making.
MOVING is an app aimed to replicate this same procedure for students who may want to experience this on their own time or do not have the luxury to attend art classes. The app will use artificial intelligence to create prompts for users to follow and create beautiful, unique abstract pieces. I hope this app can help artists who are struggling to create find new forms of self expression.
I used Adobe XD to prototype the interface and animate interactions.
